Creator vs. Creation p1

July 7, 2010

I will admit that most of the time I have a running list of things that I want. And as I get older that list gets a little smaller but happens to be more and more expensive. I remember growing up, having my mom tell me to be careful not to make an idol out of possessions. More than that she would urge me not to make an idol out of anything. God should always be first.

But as a human with a sin nature I am always going to resort back to seeking after creation and making idols out of things I shouldn’t. We seem to always be intrigued by the stuff of life, and rarely to you come across someone who understands who created all the stuff.

If we are going to call ourselves Christians then we MUST make an effort to remind ourselves that it is God who is the creator and worth giving our lives too. Not His creation. You see bad things will happen when we chase after the stuff that God creates.

More coming later…

I guess they do go hand in hand when it comes to the fact that you can’t have creation without the creator. The question is who are we focusing on. Are we to worship God or his creation?
Romans 1 tells us, that as sinners we prefer creation and not the creator
