Giving Thanks in the Middle

November 25, 2009

Have you ever noticed how it is very easy to give thanks and be grateful at the beginning and end of things? Let me show you…

When you get a job you are thankful and getting that first pay check is great, but then comes the middle. We can’t wait for the end aka retirement. It’s easy yo be thankful in the beginning and end.

Or how about when you receive salvation? We are thankful at the beginning that Christ has saved us and brings us into a relationship with Him, and then at the end we spend eternity with Him forever and we are forever thankful. But somewhere in the middle we sometimes have the tendency to forget to be thankful.

I know that there are times I struggle with this. I am thankful for new beginnings and rejoice at the ends of things, but in the middle is where the true test is. How we act in the middle really speaks of whether we are truly thankful.

Agree? Disagree? Thoughts? I would love to hear them.
