You mean its for them too?

November 16, 2009

I was reading Lamentations yesterday and came across this:

22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”

25 The Lord is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul who seeks him.
26 It is good that one should wait quietly
for the salvation of the Lord.
27 It is good for a man that he bear
the yoke in his youth. – Lamentations 3:22-27″

Often times we read this verse and are in wonder at the beauty and grace of God. This verse has been read millions and millions of times in church. These verses are packed full of grace that is meant for us.

But as I was reading it the other day, I had this thought:

Do we show the same grace to those who mess up and apologize like God does to us?

It is very easy to accept grace for ourselves… it is not so easy to give grace to those who mess up consistently. I have always read that verse and thought of God giving me grace. We are to be like Him, which means giving grace… like Him.
