Just So You Know That You know

August 28, 2009

Many times people wonder “What is God’s will for my life?” Through out life we ask ourselves this question, and most of the time we are asking where God wants us to go and what God wants us to do… and sometimes we ask Him who he wants us to marry.

People bang their heads against the wall trying to figure out where God wants them to be, all the while forgetting that He gave us His word to guide us.

I would venture to say that if we are to do the next 4 things that God wouldn’t care so much about where we live, the job we have and who we will get married to. Check them out!

1. God wants us to be hold and sanctified- 1 Thes. 4:3

  • This means we are set apart from the world.
  • This means if something is going to make you holy… then do it! If that means marrying the girl you’ve been dating for 7 years  do it!  Waiting for God to speak out loud about the situation isn’t going to happen! If she helps you become holy marry the girl.. or guy.

2. Always rejoice, pray and give thanks- 1 Thes. 5:16-18

  • In everything you do these things should be taking place.
  • It is God’s will for you to rejoice through all things, through both healing and sickness.
  • If you are person who believes in Christ then giving thanks should always be coming out of your mouth.

3. To bear fruit and know Christ better- Col. 1:9-10

  • Knowing God better should produce good things in your life.
  • And I don’t mean if you know God or follow him your life will be fantastic, but that your character will reflect Christ and produce good fruit.

4. Be filled with the Spirit/ God’s will- Eph. 5:17-20

  • Filling your life with the things of God is never a bad thing.
  • In fact he commands us to do it.
