50 Years

August 25, 2009

A number of years ago I went to the 50th wedding anniversary of my Great Uncle Ted. Ted and Aunt Jenny had made it. In a day and age where more than 50% of marriage ends in divorce they had done it! 50 years is a long time, I mean a really really long time. I can remember sitting at that wedding and thinking I hope one day I can celebrate 50 years of marriage.

There was a moment in that ceremony where the pastor asked Uncle Ted what was the secret to his success, his answer?

“Open the door to the car every time she gets in.”

Ever since that moment I have remembered that line. And since I have been married I have tried to do the same like Uncle Ted.

50 years is indeed a very long year. I have just married and I can’t wait to celebrate one-year anniversary.

Sarah thanks for reading! I have been married for just five years now and I feel the same way!
