Learning About Small Groups… P1

March 5, 2009

Over the past 7 years I have had the awesome privilege of participating in a number of small groups. For those of you that read this blog and do not understand what a “small group” is, it is just a small group of people (8-10) that meet on a regular basis to discuss or study a central theme.

There are a number of things that are very important for a small group to operate in health. I would like to talk about a few of them over the next number of posts. The topics that we will look at are:

  • Central Theme- Do you have to have one? What should it be?
  • Atmosphere- What should the tone or climate be for the group?
  • The Leader- What does he or she need to be? How do they handle weird situations?

I love meeting in small groups, I think it is one of the best ways to create true genuine relationships with people. So check back soon for parts 2, 3, 4.
