How I read Psalm 23 and what it says to me.

Vs. 1 –“The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.”God has provided every thing that I need in life, there is nothing I should want.

Vs. 2- “He makes me to lie down in green pastures; he leads me besides still waters.”He gives me peace at all times in life.

Vs. 3 “He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of Righteousness For His name’s sake.”God restores me all the time. No matter what from, He is there to restore me. He always leads me down the right path.

Vs. 4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For you are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”I walk through the valley. As in I am going to make it through. Also it is only the shadow of death, not death itself. I have nothing to be afraid of. His correction (the rod and staff) will comfort me by keeping me in line.

Vs. 5 “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.”God blesses me in front of people who don’t like me and brings peace to in those relationships.

Vs. 6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”I am going to live a good life, and I will be in God’s presence as long as I am in His house.
