Being Consistent p2
I think many times we love God because He has promises for us, or we think He will do things for us. And when we try to love God for the things He gives us, we (because we are human) tend to be inconsistent with our relationship with Him. Don’t think I am right? Ask any teenager how they pray? Or young adult for that matter. You will find that most serve God because they have been taught if you serve God you will get “things.” Cars, peace, healing, a good family life, friends or money the list goes on and on. They think, because they have been taught, this equation ME LOVING GOD= GOD GIVING ME A GREAT LIFE.
Living life like the equation above is the equation for disaster. God wants steady, consistent. He will be there through good and bad, I think he desires that we be there when it is good and bad. The key to being consistent in my eyes is loving God out of a pure love. I know that it is tempting to love God because of the potential to receive but I am finding it to be more rewarding when I love him through all things. Love God because you love Him. See what happens. Consistency happens.

Well said Ben. I like these last two posts a lot. I think a lot of people, definitely including myself, need to hear stuff like this and in the way you wrote it.
