images2The color black is a classy color. Right? The classic “little black dress” for women and the “plain black tee shirt” for men are a few items that will always remain classic. Black will always be a classy color, but there are some rules on when and where you can wear the color black.
Here are some tips on wearing black:

1. Wear black on a date. You really can never go wrong with wearing black on a first date.
2. If the black item that you are wearing is older than 20 years old, you should not wear it. Chances are it is either an ugly sequin dress or cheap polyester top. Those items may have been in back in your day, however, they are not acceptable now.

3.You can wear black to a funeral, but please keep in mind that it is 2008 and it is not mandatory. When it comes to weddings you should try try try to not wear black. Keep in mind that you are going to the wedding to celebrate a new life that two people are beginning; you are not going to mourn that event.

4. NEWS FLASH: You can wear black too much. I know that you think it’s classy all the time, but if you wear it too much it gets kind of depressing.

Disclaimer: If are reading this and you happen to be into gothic style please continue to dress how you dress. I am not picking on anyone’s personal taste, but just trying to give some guidelines for those who are not gothic.

Does anyone else have any tips on wearing black?

Good thoughts Ben! I would just add, when wearing black, be extra careful with your hygiene items: deodorant, toothpaste and shampoo (dandruff). As you see in commercials, it can be embarassing when you have white streaks, smudge marks or hair ’snow’ all over your shirt!

What about Johnny Cash? Did he over wear black or did it add to his persona? I wonder if he had dandruff. I mean he was in prison and all.

I am not a huge fan of Mr. Cash, but I don’t think he over wore black, I would think it was just who he was. And chances are he had dandruff, I would bet a lot when he was older.
